This beautiful and highly durable natural stone [Forest Marble] is a much sort after Cotswold stone that has been quarried in the West Country and the Cotswolds for hundreds of years. The beautiful striations of the fossilised wood can be seen inside the stone are very beautiful and the natural colourings are vibrant.
Is it sustainable? Whilst it is quarried from a non-renewable source (being stone formed over millions of years just like slate) it is usually sold as a building material so is readily available and is also is a natural material. These are made with offcuts from the building trade that would otherwise be waste.
